Sciatica is one of the most recognizable — and frustrating — types of pain. It travels along the sciatic nerve, from the low back through the hip and down the leg, and it can range from a mild ache to sharp, electric pain.

What causes it

Sciatica usually comes from pressure on the nerve — often a herniated or bulging disc, but sometimes tight muscles or joint restriction. Pinning down the source is the first step to lasting relief.

How we treat it

Rather than masking the pain, we work to relieve the pressure on the nerve itself. Spinal decompression and gentle flexion-distraction take load off the disc, while adjustments and soft-tissue work address the surrounding structures.

Most patients find that a targeted plan brings meaningful relief.
