Spend all day at a keyboard and you might notice your fingers going numb or tingly. It's a common complaint — and while it's easy to ignore, it's usually a sign that something upstream needs attention.

Possible culprits

Hand numbness can come from the wrist (as in carpal tunnel syndrome), but it can also trace back to the neck and shoulder, where nerves on their way to the hand can get compressed. Sorting out the true source is key to fixing it.

What helps

We look at the whole pathway — wrist, elbow, shoulder, and neck — to find where the nerve is being irritated. From there, targeted adjustments, soft-tissue work, and simple ergonomic changes often bring relief without more invasive measures.

If your hands regularly go numb, don't wait for it to become constant. Early care is usually simpler and more effective.
